CHAIRMAN OF CITA ACCOMPANIED PRESIDENT OF MONGOLIA DURING THE STATE VISIT TO INDIA

At the invitation of H.E. Ram Nath Kovind, President of India, H.E. Mr. Battulga Khaltmaa, President of Mongolia, paid a state visit to India from 19-23 September 2019. He was accompanied by Foreign Minister Mr. Damdin Tsogtbaatar, Minister of Road and Transport Development, Mr. Byambasuren Enkhamgalan, Ambassador of Mongolia to India Mr. Ganbold Gonchig, Ms. Undarmaa Batbayar, Chairperson of India–Mongolia Parliamentary, Mr. Enkhbold Zandaakhuu, Head of the President`s Office and Mr. Chinbat, Chairman of the Communications and Information Technology Authority as well as others officials. 

During his state visit to the Republic of India, President Kh.Battulga met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 20. During the visit of Indian PM Narendra Modi to Mongolia in 2015, the sides approved the oil refinery project. Construction of infrastructure works or rail and auto road of the refinery to be built in accordance with the project have been complete.

The President said that the previous week, he visited the project site to get acquainted with the construction process.  At the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on amplifying people-to-people relations through bilateral cultural, religious and sports activities. On the same day President Kh.Battulga met his Indian counterpart Shri Ram Nath Kovind at the Presidential Residence in New Delhi.  

Welcoming President Battulga to India, Indian President expressed confidence that the visit will be a milestone in bilateral relationship.

In turn, Mongolian President expressed his delight with visiting India, a spiritual neighbor of Mongolia.

Sides were happy to note that the countries have full possibilities to cooperate in growing sectors of economy such as space, digital connectivity and cyber security, and expand present relations. The Indian President said he hopes that the construction of oil refinery would be complete on time, becoming a symbol of cooperation of the two countries. 

Following the meeting at the Presidential Residence in New Delhi, the Presidents of Mongolia and India witnessed a ceremony of signing documents of cooperation on September 20.  The documents include;

1.    An agreement between the Government of Mongolia and the Government of India on cooperation in the exploration and uses of outer space for peaceful purposes.

2.    A program for 2019-2023 on cultural exchanges between the Government of Mongolia and the Government of India

3.    A Memorandum of Understanding between National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) of Mongolia and National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) of India for disaster risk reduction.

4.    Comprehensive work plan for cooperation in animal husbandry, production of dairy products. between Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry of Mongolia and Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying of India.
