On October 9-12, the 42nd Session of the Management Committee of the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) was held in Ulaanbaatar. Over 100 high-ranking officials of public and private organizations in ICT sector of APT member countries participated in the event.The session aimed to overview the organization’s operational and financial performance in 2018 and approved a strategic plan for the year of 2019-2020. Moreover, reports of APT preparatory groups for Plenipotentiary Conference of the International Telecommunication Union to be held in November and World Radiocommunication Conference 2019 were discussed along with a number of important matters including preparation for the Asia-Pacific ICT Ministerial Meeting in 2019 and the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the APT. The delegates also made decision on the date and place of the 43rd Session of the Management Committee of the APT.
Mongolia joined the organization in 1991 and the Communications and Information Technology Authority /CITA/ is responsible for the implementation of the APT decisions, standards and recommendations in nationwide.Organizing this event in Mongolia, it has become increasingly important to strengthen our position in the international community, expand cooperation in the field, establish business partnership, and improve the friendly relations of member countries.
